Enclosed carport installation?

I converted my existing garage to living space 5 years ago, and am finally getting around to putting up a new garage. I want something affordable which can be made to look in keeping with the style of my house. After much research, I think the way to go for me is a steel carport kit, enclosed with blueboard and rendered.

So, now I’m looking for somebody who can help me source the best kit for my needs, and do the installation and blueboarding. I found a company in NSW who do the whole thing from start to finish, but they don’t service Canberra. I’m reluctant to just buy a kit from Stratco or the like without knowing what features I need to make the blueboarding feasible, but I’m not having any luck finding anyone here who can help me with the whole process. So, thought I’d ask if any RiotACTers have any recommendations for where to go next??

Thanks in advance for any advice!

I can’t recommend WR Engineering either. I had a terrible experience with them replacing my colourbond fences. Unreliable, shoddy work, and a real fight to get them back to fix their stuff-ups (which they failed to do). I now have a wonky fence, and two gates that only close if you kick them hard enough.

I do all my own work for those types of projects. Recycled Timber, secondhand sheds rebuilt to fit, out of the box thinking and construction. Works out a lot cheaper, you get a better and more interesting product and the satisfaction of creating it yourself.

Of course, you do need a bit of a tool kit and it’s not for everyone, but of you’re reasonably handy and resourceful its pretty easy to do.

Any builder should be able to do the job. Instead of rendering blueboard you could use a texture coat which gives the same appearance or use Hebel panel walls no blueboard needed

Have you given Fair Dinkum a call? They have been very helpful.

I couldn’t recommend WR Engineering less. Their attempted installation of a pergola at my mother’s house involved months of cock-ups, ultimately resulting in replacement of the entire roof section.

Give Weathershield Garages a try.

Try WR Engineering in Fyshwick. I used them years ago and they did a top rate job.
