The northern entrance to Cooleman Court Shopping Centre in Weston is set for a makeover, with the current concrete ramp entry to be replaced by an enclosed, weather-proofed travellator.
According to a development application lodged by owner Mirvac, the new, accessible entry way on Mahony Court will provide a more functional and attractive façade to the main pedestrian and car parking area of Cooleman Court.

The existing ramp and balustrade will be demolished and a travellator and lift installed.
The entry way will be enclosed, with glass windows and glazed automated doors installed to weather-proof it.
New signage has also been proposed for the northern façade, as well as new façade treatments and textures to improve presentation and visual interest.
A modernised entrance should also make life easier for customers battling with shopping trolleys and the elements on the sloped entrance, as well as people with disabilities.
Cooleman Court is part of the Weston Group Centre, which serves Weston Creek and the Molonglo Valley.
More parking.
More efficient parking
Yes, a flat footpath on the side where the dry cleaners are. At the moment it slopes down to road and is very difficult for elderly and disabled to push their walkers or trolleys along the path.
This is very important!
I'm neither elderly or disabled, but will certainly agree that the slope on that side of the shops is even troublesome for me, especially with a heavy full trolley. :)

This should have been done long ago!!
More parking
The road in the carpark near the entrance needs to be painted with white stripes to highlight it is a shared space with pedestrians.
More parking
More parking. We used to do all our groceries there, but now I won’t go there at all, purely because it doesn’t seem to matter what time of day I go, I can’t get a park. Given it has the only Aldi in the weston creek/woden area, it’s quite disgraceful. I would rather drive to tuggeranong or Belconnen to get the same stores than deal with Cooleman Court.
I never have too much of a problem finding a park 🤷♂️
Then you must be lucky. Doesn’t seem to matter what time I go, the car parks are already packed.
Tom Howieson hooray. I wont have to walk to the shop...
Fix the footpath on the community centre side. It is sloped so badly towards the car park that it is a massive struggle to control your shopping trolley.
What about more parking?
More disabled parking and a safe drop off spot for low mobility seniors.
Parking!!!!
Less crackheads
More parking!!
Parking!!!
More parking please
Get a shopping centre into the new suburbs! It seems completely incompetent to build hundreds of houses without also constructing shopping centres and ensuring they are operational when hundreds of people and cars move in.
They are building two in the new areas
As others have noted, lack of parking is a key issue at this shopping centre. But linked to that is the increased danger of so many cars and people in a very unstructured space. It's like Browns' cows - everyone wanders to and fro to the entries, at both car parks. They are battling trolleys with minds of their own, keeping track of children, and watching out for cars whose drivers are desperate to find a park, any park. The facility owners need to take a good look and listen to the community, and seek advice of experts who know about moving people safely around these spaces.
