End to water restrictions in sight?

ABC Online has a story on ActewAGL navel gazing which, en passant, mentions water restrictions will be ending sometime next year.

We can all but hope this is followed with some sensible carrots and sticks to reduce water consumption, without relying on people snitching on their neighbours.

Well picked Che, I was thinking along the same lines. If you read between the lines I think this has very little to do with water levels and coservation.

And Thumper, you right on the money again; what if we have below average rainfall before bewteen now and ‘sometime next year’?

This worries me…

ACTEW have probably been told they’re not allowed to up the price of water to cover their shortfall in profit due to lower useage,

therefore they’ll advise the lifting of water restrictions to get their profit margin back up
