The Subaru Rally of Canberra is on the weekend of 11 and 12 March 2006.

To promote it, CityNews has a profile of 23-year-old Amy Stevens, who will be navigating for her father Denis in the race. Her younger brother Blake will also be competing.

I have fond memories of times spent with both Amy and Blake when I was in primary school watching dog shows, learning about internet chat rooms and playing barbies and was surprised to hear Amy has caught her family’s rally bug given she seems such a girly girl.

That aside, I now know who I should be rooting for in the race should I decide to attend. If you want to support the Stevenses, or indeed any of the other 27 teams then you need to get tickets from Ticketek.

I’ll support any of the locals (or teams with a local on it)! Good to see them mix it up with the rest of the country/Asia-Pacific.
(Hi Tony, Hi Julie)

The Rallye Des Femmes (lady drivers rally) was on at the start of Feb, there were 20 entrants who by all accounts had a ball

I’ve always rooted to show support! I thought that was what we were meant to do? At least, all my boyfriends in the past have told me so.

Go easy, JB, rallying men clearly get them revved up

I think rooting’s a very good way of showing support. Gives the rootee a bit of a kick and a smile before they have to go and do their stuff…

and when did you ladies start rooting to show your support?

I will be rooting for Gerald Schofield/Ray Baker. They are team my boy is on, so I’m kind of biased. And they are also great guys! I’ll be spending the rally in the service area.

Who’d have thought LG would ever have any interest in motorsport!!!!!! Or be supportive of a man!!!!!
