Equine crisis!

12:30pm Saturday 4 September 2010 – Horse trapped in horse float ACT Fire Brigade are assisting in an animal rescue on Monaro Hwy near Rose Cottage, Tuggeranong (800 metres northbound).

A horse has slipped over and is trapped, lying down inside a twin horse float.

ACT Fire Brigade crews have arranged pulleys and ropes to pull horse out of float once sedated by veterinarian.

Horse has unknown injuries at this time.

UPDATE: The horse is out!

12:55pm Saturday 4 September 2010 – Update on horse trapped in float ACT Fire Brigade crews have successfully rescued horse from float.

Horse has lacerations to head and legs and is being taken to Canberra Equine Hospital, Lyneham for further medical attention.
