In relation to the ESA and terrorism and the sky falling in, it would seem that the ESA is now backtracking a bit.
Megan Doherty gives her incisive view here.
I can’t even remember my pmkeys number these days but I would suggest the reason it was brought in was because the Army system was so antiquated that it could have come from the British Army in the 1800s.
Thats not to say that it actually works as well as it could, because I doubt it does.
Oh, and I still remember my regi number….
Peter Dunn was in the tiger country in Vietnam. Everyone knows that….
But I’ll google it anyway.
For a bit of history regarding the commish read the latest ANAO report (No 8 of 05-06) and then google pmkeys and peter dunn.
I do believe you are correct.
Having met Dunn on a number of ocassions I’ve found him to be a very genuine man who came into the job with a vision of ensuring that the ACT had the best Emergency Service personnel, training, support and equipment available.
I think over the time he has been here he’s been slowly ground down by Stanhope and hargreaves to the stage where he’d tear his hair out, if he had any.
A genuine bloke with a genuine want to do the job and do it correctly. However, the political will has always appeared lacking.
I think you’re right. Stanhope will ditch him the moment he starts making the wrong noises.
That’s what I’m thinking. I can see some more investigation into Das Komissar’s actions regarding the additional funding that’s been allocated to the ESA since the bushfires. What has been done to improve services and protection of the ACT? (very little IMHO)
I can also anticipate the Komrade turning his back on his faithful Komissar, leaving him to fend off the wolves of accountability all alone.
I think he’s fairly much politically hamstrung.
Hmmm… The sharks are circling and I think they smell blood. Watch this space for demise of Das Komissar.
Well spotted Thumper!
What should we call Canberra’s newest Light Rail Vehicle?
