europa lasagna

Can’t. Move. Bury me now.

Gawd I’m stuffed.

The Europa has been lurking at the bottom on the Canberra Centre food court since the centre opened in 1989.

Today, better late than never I gave it a try.

They’re doing a $9.80 special of a big tub of lasagna with creamy potatoes. For some reason a splash of bolognaise goes over the lot.

It’s a pretty good lasagne. Rich layers of bechamel sauce, tangy bolognaise, nothing a plastic fork can’t get through.

As you’d hope when mixing cream sauce with potatoes the sauce has a lemony taste.

If you’ve got the need for some comfort food, well there’s a whole lot of comfort in that tub.

(For more sub $10 lunches in Civic check the tag, if you’ve got recommendations let me know.)

Johnboy, I’m getting seriously concerned about your health! Burgers, lasagna, pizza etc. You’re going to end up doing a Morgan Spurlock at this rate. Might be time for someone else to do the $10 reviews while you allow your arteries to de-clog.

I succumbed recently to Europa and had a small takeaway mix of tortellini and ravioli for $7.80. I ate half one day, the rest the next. It was ok the first day, but didn’t improve with age. Greasy, stodgy and salty. But sometimes, that’s just what you feel like having.

I quite enjoy the food there, but find them to easily be the most aggressive sellers in that food court. If you make eye contact within 20′ of that place, you’re a dead man. 🙂

omg i clicked on the link to this post JUST to make a similar comment!!! i don’t even dare walk by it to look at the food anymore because they practically leap over the counter at you… except sometimes i suggest doing so as a joke (and yes i know that’s cruel). personally i find the food way too heavy, but there is the odd occasion when you’re after some stodge 🙂

Methinks JB is just warming up.

He hasn’t reviewed any pies, snag rolls, potato scallops or chiko rolls yet.

Bit light on the carbo’s though ….

How unhealthy can you get…
