A 26-year-old Gungahlin man has been arrested by police this afternoon for the hit-run in Evatt on Friday night (March 22).
Around 10 pm a 26-year-old man was dropped off by a taxi near the intersection of William Webb Drive and Callaghan Street.
After dropping off the man the taxi driver drove up William Webb Drive, performed a U-turn and approached the man who was near the middle of the road.
The taxi drove into the victim trapping him under the vehicle and then sped off.
Criminal Investigations Detectives located the driver and vehicle with the assistance of Aerial Capital Group.The vehicle has been seized by police and will be forensically examined.
The 26-year-old driver will face the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow, charged with intentionally inflict grievous bodily harm.
Police will be opposing bail.
