Even statues feel the weather in Canberra

By Barcham - 22 July 2013 8

Charming

We got sent some great snaps of Gale trying to keep warm by Rioter Nicole:

I thought you might get a laugh out of these photos. While passing the Queanbeyan court house yesterday, I saw someone had outfitted the statue of John Gale with a more appropriate hat.

Debonair

He looks pretty great.

What’s Your opinion?

Perhaps the same people that created the titty-carp but surely it would be much more visually exciting to just wrap a few sticks of gelignite around it and blow it up?

The statue at Lyons shops has been wearing a beanie for the last couple of weeks.

What would they have done to a statue of a brass monkey?

Well it has been blowing a bitterly cold gale recently..

In future years, the predictive statue of John ‘Johnboy’ Griffiths will be much admired by the once-hip and currently Zimmered.

(Something wrong with sentence…must drink more.)

Hmm, that’s very interesting. On the weekend I drove past the John Curtin/Ben Chifley statues near Kings Avenue and each was adorned with a brightly coloured scarf. I didn’t stop for a closer look, but perhaps I should have!
