Blues Piano Night

The annual Blues Piano Night hosts four players with different styles showing what blues piano means to them. And, to top it off, the four players mix and match on the two on stage pianos to play duos and trios and then that crowd favourite, the eight-handed boogie-woogie!

The concept was born in New Orleans, with radio station WWOZ’s long-running event, where many of the finest blues piano players from New Orleans and elsewhere gather for Blues Piano Night. Showing we can match them right here in Canberra, we have Ali Penney, Wayne “G-for-Jazz-but-wait-’til-you-hear-him-play-the-blues” Kelly, John “The Boss” Black and Leo Joseph.

So, come along for yet another great night of blues in many forms from gospel to boogie and beyond!
