Lion Dance

Lion dance is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture and other Asian countries in which performers mimic a lion’s movements in a lion costume. The tradition of performing the lion dance on the eve and throughout the New Year is a strong tradition that is still practised today. Lions are commonly used for happy and auspicious occasions such as celebrations, weddings, birthdays, grand openings, festivals, events and most importantly, Lunar New Year.

Prosperous Mountain Lion Dance (PMLD) Troupe will perform at Town Centre Vikings from 7:30pm to 8pm and Erindale Vikings from 8:30pm to 9pm as part of the celebrations.
