The Delphi Bank 26th Greek Film Festival is in Canberra this weekend!

From the 29th November until 1st December, we are showing 6 Greek films and holding special events like Greek-themed markets and pop-ups to celebrate!

Come on down and enjoy an ultimate Greek experience.

The Films

1968

What: A docudrama based on an epic basketball game between the underdog Greek team AEK and Slavia of Prague.

What: A film about a woman’s empowerment through employment, during the Greek financial crisis.

The Bachelor 3

What: A uniquely Hellenic take on The Hangover franchise, The Bachelor 3 reunites the cast of the 2016 original and the 2018 sequel for another night of madness and mayhem.

The Taverna

What: In this black comedy, Kostas, the owner of a Melbourne Greek restaurant, has employed Jamila, a single mother going through a bitter custody battle, as a belly dancer to entertain customers.

OPENING NIGHT GALA: Canberra premiere screening of 1968 followed by an official party with delicious Greek food by REBEL REBEL, tantalising drinks, traditional music by Apollo Entertainment and dancing from the Canberra Hellenic Dancers.

GREEK CELLAR DOOR MARKET: A Greek-focused Cellar Door wine and produce market featuring over 20 wines to try.
Where: Nishi Grand Stair (next to Palace Electric Cinema)

Cost: Free entry, $12 tasting glass.

POP-UP GREEK TAVERNA AND MELTING POT: An electrifying music concert featuring some of the country’s finest musicians, complemented by a simple yet delicious Greek Taverna menu.

Time: Taverna from 3 pm – 9 pm, Melting Pot from 8 pm – 11 pm
Cost: $20 plates for Greek Taverna, Melting Pot is FREE for all to attend.

Sunday 1 December

CLOSING NIGHT CELEBRATION: Screening of final film, In This Land Nobody Knew How To Cryfollowed by drinks and mezze.
