Christmas shopping with children in tow can be a trying exercise, we all know that bored kids and a shopping list do not make for fun times. So, Canberra Outlet has come up with an ingenious solution, a free Christmas scavenger hunt for the kids. Bring your children to the Canberra Outlet and the kids can complete a fun scavenger hunt while you shop.
The scavenger hunt involves a series of interactive Christmas-themed stations placed throughout the centre for kids to engage in during their time in the centre.
Canberra Outlet Marketing Manager, Claire Read says, “We know Christmas shopping with young kids can be a difficult task and keeping them entertained along the way is no easy feat. So, to help mitigate any mid-shopping frenzies and quick-fix bribery purchases, we thought we’d give parents a helping hand by creating an interactive scavenger hunt that children can participate in.”
“Not only does it help get the kids excited about Christmas shopping, it also allows parents to seamlessly make their way through the centre, with lots of fun stops to keep kids entertained along the way,” Ms Read said.

Stations include interacting with life-sized cut outs and giant inflatable versions of your favourite Christmas characters, jumping out of a giant present, writing and posting a letter to Santa, creating your very own Christmas decoration, wandering through magical candy cane lane and visiting the big man himself – Santa Claus.
When you arrive at the centre, head to the customer service desk and collect a custom illustrated map by local creatives Bandit Design. The children can then make their way around the centre with you, completing the different activities at each station and uncovering a hidden letter that spells out the name of the character whose nose Rudolph ate.
Once the children find all the letters to spell out the name, they can head back to the cu
stomer service desk to redeem a special prize. Everyone who completes the hunt and signs up to the Centre’s Kids Club will also go into the draw to win a $250 Canberra Outlet voucher.
The scavenger hunt is open everyday until December 30.
