Our Meet the Maker series is back for 2020 and we’re excited to bring one of our region’s most renowned labels for an intimate night exploring their interesting range that they love, and we adore: Ravensworth Wines from Murrumbateman.

Starting with canapés on arrival you’ll be treated to a four course dining experience, all the way from sparkling to cheeses, to give you a taste of la dolce vita (‘the sweet life’).

Ravensworth began its journey in 2001 under the pretext that ‘it seemed like a good idea at the time’, as a family affair with life-shackled-partners Bryan and Jocelyn Martin teaming up with the brother David Martin. This team is full of personality and life, and this evening, hosted by Bryan, will be one you’ll truly enjoy from start to finish.

Their vineyard is managed under what could loosely be called natural forestry principles. Those super neat, rolling hills of perfectly herbicided vines of others and clipped grass is meant to emote in you a feeling like you could grab a picnic basket, a loved one and run downs those perfect rows – not these guys! Ravensworth ditched the big tractors a long time ago… they really try and keep machinery out of the vines and the chemicals out too. Their moto is “Just leave it alone, things will work out”. Their vines are “…wild and won’t be used anytime soon in a glossy magazine, but it looks right to all of us living in it.”

From Riesling to Shiraz, Shiraz Viogner, Zinfandel, Gamay and the increasingly popular (and spectacular!) Sangiovese and Nebbiolo and so much more, Ravensworth Wines host a variety of top notch bottles, are high in personality, high in flavour and wildly enjoyable.
