Everyone is just super lovely!

Yesterday I started driving to Sydney at some ridiculously early hour and my usually great car had trouble in the extreme cold.

Although I didn’t make it to my destination I had absolutely no trouble ruling out and fixing up the obvious things like oil and water with the assistance of some lovely people who either stopped by the road to assist or wandered over at the rest area to see if I needed a hand. The car is still having a few problems but thanks to the generosity and kindness of fellow travellers I was able to get home safely and organize about getting it over to my favourite mechanic in Lyneham for repair.

I want to send a huuuuuge hug to all the lovely random neighbourly people from the Canberra area who stopped to help me.

And of course big smooches to the not at all random friend who helped me retrieve my car back to Canberra once the weather warmed up and the engine cooled down.

I hope you readers all experience loveliness from your interactions this week, especially if you are having difficulty!

Oh! You must mean “Guerrilla marketing”?

How cynical.

All I can say is, if Bates Automotive is recommended enough to draw two positive reviews out of 10 posts, then that must be quality service, reasonable charges and friendly customer service speaking for itself.

I’ll grant them my custom.

“Give Bates Auto a go!”

*Thumbs up, toothy grin, cheesy ditty*

Spot on, good call.

$100 says it’s because of your wonderful smile… 🙂

FYI, Lyneham garage is my favourite go-to place for car trouble/maintenance as well.

Has RA become livejournal when we weren’t looking?

Awww I would have helped, but I’m southside and din’t know you were in trouble.

Can I have a hug anyway?

We’ll have to make friends with her to get the smooches..

I’m not trading hugs for help! But if I ever have another crisis I guess I could post a “Damsel in Distress” story directly to RiotACT and give you an opportunity to be helpful?

Good to hear someone had a positive experience come out of something otherwise negative. 🙂

Bates Automotive at the Lyneham shops are always very helpful and try to give me a good deal. There are some specialist mechanics around that are good for a top-notch job but my friendly neighbourhood mechanic does a great job at keeping my older car running.

I’ve been stopped with an exploded tyre on the side of the Hume near Lake George and was also heartened that someone pulled over to help.

Good story.

Who’s your favourite mechanic? I need to find one of those.
