dickson robbery facefit

ACT Policing has released a facefit of a man who assaulted a staff member and robbed a store in Dickson on Sunday night (January 1).

Around 6.40pm, the man entered the Top Goods Asian Groceries store on Woolley Street, and struck a male staff member on the back of the head, possibly with the butt of a knife. He stole a sum of cash from the register before fleeing the store.

The staff member was taken to The Canberra Hospital, where he received treatment for cuts to his head.

The man is described as a tall Caucasian, aged in his late 30s to early 40s, with short brown hair, brown eyes and a tattoo on his left leg. He was wearing a black shirt, brown shorts, and brown workboots.

Anyone who recognises the man depicted in the facefit is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

I spoke to the owner of Top Goods today. She said that the injured staff (also co-owner) ended up getting 5 stitches to his head. What was worse was that a female customer came in not long after the assault and then ran away (despite seeing the poor man semi-conscious and blood gushing out of his head). It wasn’t until the man came to that he phoned the police and ambulance himself.

The robber is already a disgusting low-life, but I am floored to hear that someone can see an injured person and fail to call for help 🙁

Do double-edged swords have buttocks?

The butt is the end of the handle away from the blade.

I did not realise that knives had butts…

indeed, they have hilts!

But cops deal with guns, so you know, the bit you hold onto!

Top goods is the little tucked away one near Ali Baba, not on the main strip (so it’s probably why this sack of shit picked it). It is close to the ACTTAB though.

Stating the obvious: Has someone checked security tapes from the Tradies club immediately before the assault? I’m not sure, but I think Top Goods might be the Asian grocers almost directly accross the road from the club (which has alcohol, gambling and possibly the occasional idiot in urgent need of cash).
