bubbler of shame

One has to admire the ingenuity of smokers to find new and exciting ways to dispose of their filthy by-products.

One has to wonder who was the first to stub one out here and then I guess the others just followed the lead.

It’s on Ainslie Avenue just across the road from the Legislative Assembly.

Well it does actually look vaguely like a smoker’s outpost. At least it makes a change from them being used as urinals.
Does the bubbler actually work?

Same at my office. I have no issue with people smoking but it irks me when they leave the evidence all over the pavement. How hard is it to find a bin

Butcher of the English language.

Having recently moved to Tokyo, I find it interesting that the Japanese take on dealing with smokers is totally opposite to Australia’s- on the (main) streets you’re not allowed to smoke at all, and all the train stations and other public places have special, often walled-off, areas where smokers and their butts go. It’s almost like watching zoo animals. On the other hand, restaurants are free to allow smoking inside with apparently no exhaust system requirements, so every second drinking establishment is a haze of grey smoke. Sigh…

Well, there you go. Had I of seen this and were a smoker, I would have thought it was an ashtray or trendy/tricky rubbish bin as well.

That doesn’t look like a bubbler to me, i hadn’t just been informed it was one, i would assume it was in fact an ashtray.

If its not smokers its people pissing in them.
