Rioters might have noticed that next week sees the first ever Fashfest, Canberra’s very own celebration of all things fashion.

Above all, it’s a celebration of what a bunch of committed and creative Canberrans can do when we put our minds to something. Designers, models, hair salons, production companies, and the list goes on and on … they have all pulled together to pull off what will be an amazing four nights of fashion, music, and a fair amount of champagne.

Well, two of the four nights has sold out … so if you do want to go … best you snap up your tickets now.

It would be a great thing to sell out the four nights and show off what Canberra can do

Hop to fashfest.com.au to get on the Fashfest train.

When I saw ‘fashfest’ I thought this thread would be mocking a neo-nazi music festival or something.

I have been thinking that the name Fashfest is a bit rubbish. Doesn’t sound as if it’s Canberra showcasing it’s talents, just a hotch potch of penniless students cobbling a few items together – the truncated word Fash is very annoying. Why not something a bit more grown up? Or is that not the impression that is wanted?

Having said that, I am in no position to comment on fashion, having no fashion sense whatsoever, sinking into mummy 40-ville with incredible ease. I did go to art school though so I could slightly redeem myself. I had better not buy tickets though and turn up in my Target specials.

Good luck to the event and all, but is it just me or is the name “Fashfest” a bit pants?
