My son and I were out driving this afternoon and, at about 3:15 pm, came across a police road block in Brindabella Road, about halfway between Cotter Road and Uriarra Road. The police officer said that there had been a fatality, and that the road would be closed for about two more hours.

I have no more details. Can’t see anything on the web yet. Very sad, especially given the other recent crashes in and around Canberra.

Friday afternoon a bit after two, I heard, then saw 3 motorbikes absolutely caning past the Airport (coming from Queanbeyan) I only saw glimpses through the trees, but they were seriously moving. The term “temporary citizens” came to mind – I hope they weren’t the ones involved in this accident.

An ABC story mentions it briefly. Seems it was a motorbike. I hope it wasn’t someone I know.
