Fijians!

Joy Burch is noting the ceremonial welcome to Canberra of the Fijian rugby team this afternoon in Garema Place (and her office very kindly sent through the above pic):

ACT Minister for Multicultural Affairs Joy Burch joined the team, Wallabies players, members of the local Fiji community and rugby supporters at the event, enjoying traditional Fijian dancing, singing, traditional drumming and a ceremonial Kava offering.

“I am very proud to welcome the Fijians to Canberra, and it was great to see the broader Canberra community support this culturally significant event,” Ms Burch said.

Apparently there are still tickets to the game available although you’re advised to get in quick.

I think you will find that is Civic Square, not Garema Place!

And go the Wallabies!
