Fire at Parliament House

The following in from the ESA:

10:40am Tuesday 7 September 2010 – Small fire extinguished at Parliament House ACT Fire Brigade on scene of a small fire on the Western side of Parliament House.

Fire has been extinguished. No evacuations at this time.

ACT Fire Brigade crews investigating the source of the fire and carrying out ventilation operations.

Western side is the Senate, could just have been Steve Fielding suffering from relevance deprivation.

11:15am Tuesday 7 September 2010 – Update on small fire at Parliament House Fire was in an electrical cabinet inside the plant room.

ACT Fire Brigade have cleared the area of smoke and are soon to depart the scene.

Minimal electrical damage.

“Electrical cabinet” … I thought it was supposed to be a “kitchen cabinet” that was causing all the problems!

Considering I had to look up who Steve Fielding is, maybe JB’s comment isn’t too far off the mark…
