Fire at the Kingston Hotel

ACT Fire Brigade on scene at the Kingston Hotel, Canberra Ave, Kingston following a small fire in a clothes dryer.

Fire has been extinguished.

Approx 100 staff and patrons have been evacuated as crews carry out ventilation and air monitoring.

Minimal fire damage confined to the room of origin in the bathroom.

ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics also on scene with no patients treated or transported to hospital and will remain on site as a precaution and to support ACT Fire Brigade.

Time of Emergency Triple Zero (000) call 7.02pm.

Looked huge from the street. About a dozen fire trucks, lots of police cars, ambulances and a hazmat truck.

Quite the turnout for such a non-event.
