Fire at The Mint

Small fire extinguished at Royal Australian Mint ACT Fire Brigade on scene of a small fire at the Royal Australian Mint, Denison Street, Deakin.

Fire has been extinguished.

Fire started following a grinder that ignited some material.

Smoke has entered the air conditioning system and crews are carrying out ventilation and atmospheric monitoring.

Approx 300 people have been evacuated as a precaution.

Two pumpers on scene with the Hazmat vehicle, Breathing Apparatus support vehicle and a command officer.

Crews alerted following an Automatic Fire Alarm at 11:32am.
