Fire extinguished in roof of Curtin home

ACT Fire & Rescue has extinguished a fire in a roof at a residence on Martin Street, Curtin.

Firefighters are currently investigating the roof of the four-bedroom house to ensure no further fire spread.

Damage is minimal.

Three fire pumpers are on scene, the Breathing Apparatus Van, the Hazardous Materials Unit and two Commanders.

ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics are also on scene and have assessed one male patient for mild smoke inhalation.

Time of Emergency Triple Zero (000) call 9.14am.

UPDATE – Firefighters have now departed the scene. Cause of the fire in the roof has been determined to be from broken down roof insulation exposed to a heat source. The male patient assessed for mild smoke inhalation did not require transport to hospital.
