Fire In Canberra

I was just down at Regatta Point and looking across the lake (toward Kings Ave and beyond) there appeared to be a fire, possibily in Fyshwick or near by.

Over the course of an hour, it looked as if it was getting quite large and we also noticed that Ainslie Fire Station looked as if they were off to assist.

Anyone know anything about it?

Maybe it was some bogans practicing burnouts for Summernats!

It could of been the car fire at The Canberra Hospital?

There was s grass fire in front of OPH yesterday at lunchtime. I think the regular fire tendered by the inhabitants of the tent embassy may have gone a litle out of hand.

Anyone else see it or have more details?

My apologies I was rushing the post when I got back to work… didn’t even think of the time or when this would be added.

Holden – I was on the lake from 12pm – 1pm (the lunchtime hour), and watched as it appeared to grow larger.

There was nothing on the news or on the ESA Website (Fire or Backburning)… which is making me all the more curious.
Although in saying that, it was white smoke, so likely a grass fire. But still so very curious.

To answer the OP’s question: Yes. Someone knows something about it.

It was started by a spark

I saw a Fire Engine heading down Tharwa Rd just pass the end of Banks/Gordon this evening, sirens and lights on, but probably a totally different incident.

What time was “just”?
