Fire in Fraser

The ESA has the following on a house fire in Fraser:

    6:45pm Wednesday 20 October 2010 – House fire at Fraser ACT Fire Brigade on scene of a house fire on Daley Cr, Fraser.

    Three pumpers and BA Van in attendance. House has been severely damaged by fire.

    Crews still at work controlling fire.

    Damaged contained to house.

    Update to follow.

    8:50pm Wednesday 20 October 2010 – Final update on house fire. Firefighting operations have been completed. ACT Fire Brigade soon to depart the scene.

    Cause undetermined at this stage.
    7:20pm Wednesday 20 October 2010 – Update on house fire Fire has been extinguished.

    ACT Fire Brigade crews remaining on scene eliminating hot spots.

    One occupant safely self evacuated.

    ACT Ambulance Service intensive care paramedics on scene have treated one patient for minor smoke inhalation.

    Multiple Emergency Triple Zero (000) calls received from 6.05pm.

One day we’ll have a situation where someone is reading about something happening on Riot ACT, and then realise- “That’s my house!”

It was a savage-looking fire. The flames could be clearly seen above the trees from a few hundred metres away. Glad nobody was injured/killed.
