Fire in Phillip!

The following in from the ESA:

2:30am Tuesday 18 May 2010 – Fire at commercial building at Phillip ACT Fire Brigade are on scene of a fire at a commercial premesis on Dundas Court, Phillip.

Fire has been extinguished at the massage and therapeutic studio with extensive damage. Damage estimated at $500,000 with minor smoke damage only to neighbouring businesses.

Building was vacant at time of fire.

Crews alerted following Emergency Triple Zero (000) calls and an Automatic Fire Alarm at 11:35pm.

Cause is unknown at this time and investigations are continuing.

Three fire pumpers, the Bronto Skylift Hydraulic Platform and the Breathing Aparatus van were used to extinguish the fire.

and as luck would have it, I was booked in today for my mothers day treat… they called and rescheduled me to have it in belconnen instead.

hopefully they are up and running again soon.

Funny, when I rang to make the appointment, they said they were ‘closed for maintenance’ on Monday. Doubt they were wanting this much maintenance to be done!!!

Seems like it was the Foot and Thai shop that went up in smoke, shame really, they provide a fantastic service.
