Fire on Moore Street

This in from the ESA:

4:35pm Thursday 16 December 2010 – Electrical fire in city ACT Fire Brigade has attended an electrical fire in an office building on Moore Street, Canberra City.

The fire was inside an electrical distribution board which produced some smoke in the basement car park.

Between 400-600 people were evacuated as ACT Fire Brigade carried out ventilation of the building and will shortly be permitted to return inside.

Three pumpers, the Bronto Hydraulic Platform, a command officer, the Breathing Apparatus van and Hazmat support unit attended .

ACT Fire Brigade were notified following an automatic fire alarm at 3.41pm.

Damage is minimal.
