My first thought was ‘He couldn’t be an original Hackett-ite’ as I attended the local primary school and I like to think of Hackett as a place that breeds champions of the human race, not moronic half wits who can’t even find their way out of a wet paper bag.

Samaritan House in Hackett has a few permanent residents and is the closest thing to hospitalisation that is actually available to the people who live there. The residents are properly sick and one lovely schizophrenic is known to all the neighbours who actually warn newbies in the area not to be alarmed if he wanders the streets talking to himself. When I read about a 32yo Hackett man acting erratically I think of Samaritan House and wonder if it’s another of their “characters.”
