I’ve asked google but failed to find any information.

Will there be fireworks over the long weekend?

There will be intermittent “bangs” heard around Canberra over the weekend. They just won’t be regulated, quality controlled, “safe” consumer fireworks. Welcome to prohibition.

I lost three mailboxes in the days when fireworks were legally available, so if you think that the problem’s prohibition, you’re wrong. The problem is bogans with explosives.

None of the legal fireworks sold in the last couple of years could blow up a finger let alone a mailbox.

Bonfire night was killed a couple of years ago by the ACT Government to protect children and other animals.

Today parents are too scared to let their children do anything adventurous – except of course hang out with heroin addicts in Civic or become part of the booming sex industry here. Got your priorities right Canberra?

I am fully aware that fireworks have been banned but I thought that maybe they would put on a controlled display instead.

Can’t wait for the bus stops/underpass to go bang in the night.

There haven’t been fireworks on sale in the ACT since 2010. There are also no public displays of fireworks. The last Queen’s birthday fireworks display was held at EPIC sometime in the 1980s.
