A 22-year-old Higgins man has died in hospital following a single vehicle collision in Macgregor yesterday morning (Sunday, January 20).

The man was a passenger in a white Mitsubishi Triton utility, which rolled onto its side after the driver lost control at the intersection of Cannan Crescent and Constance Stone Street in Macgregor around 12.45am yesterday.

He was taken to The Canberra Hospital after sustaining serious head injuries, and died this afternoon (Monday, January 21).

The 22-year-old driver of the car was not injured.

ACT Policing’s Collision, Investigation and Reconstruction Team are investigating the cause of the collision, and preparing a report for the ACT Coroner.

The man is the first person to die on an ACT road this year.

Anyone who witnessed the single vehicle collision in Macgregor yesterday morning, and can assist police with their investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via www.act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously.

He was probably a much better person than you can ever aspire to be you insensitive, disrespectful piece of trash.

Wow, take it easy dude. You misunderstood shirty_bear. Why such an agressive, personal attack on bear?

What happened is sad for friends and family, but even at the age of 16 (raised and and educated well) one would know to NEVER get in a car with a drunken mate behind the steering wheel.
Yes, most of the times you will get home safe, but there will be one time when you will not….

I’d contest this point actually. If you’re drunk yourself, it’s difficult to make the judgment as to how much your friend has had to drink/has been affected by drink or other substances. And if you and that friend have a prior agreement that they will be the designated driver…

It’s not all black and white.

Agree 100% with other commenters – this is a young person who has lost their life, and they weren’t drink-driving, they weren’t doing drugs, they were doing nothing illegal, in all likelihood they didn’t even do anything stupid except get in a car with someone they trusted to do the right thing. These comments are disgusting and hurtful and most of all, unnecessary.

My most sincere condolences to the family and friends.

In disbelief re the insensitive and disrespectful comments above. Pls show some more decency.

How sad. I don’t think the nasty comments are helping much either.

What does the size of the turn-out at the funeral have to do with anything? Would it be better if it was someone who generated a smaller turnout? Or if it was someone less ‘young and vibrant’?

You should be writing for the celebrity trash media.

“Kyall”? What a giveaway.

What the hell is wrong with you people?

Apart from missing the bogan gene, you mean?

+1.

What a tragedy. The poor family and loved ones, I can’t even begin to imagine their pain.

A massive turn-up for the funeral service of Kyall Green at St John’s in Holt this morning ….. condolences to his family and friends. So sad when someone so young and vibrant goes before their time!

What a bloody tragedy. Only 22 years old. Everything about this is a bummer. 🙁
