Today he’s been taking delivery of five new ambulances.

Mr Corbell said the new ambulances will help bolster existing ACTAS fleet and ensure our frontline services continue to be well prepared for emergency patient care right around the clock.

The new vehicles represent the most modern technology and have been built to the latest specification. They feature:

— Fitted with the Mercedes Turbo Diesel engine package to meet Euro 5 emissions;
— Drug warming and cooling lockers to maintain constant temperature in the ACT environment;
— A modern heating system to maintain patient comfort;
— Reversing cameras and the latest Global Positioning System (GPS) tracking and,
— An interior lighting system incorporating the latest LED lighting in both the drivers cabin and patient care area.

“In addition, ACTAS has also replaced four new vehicles including three frontline emergency ambulances and one non-urgent patient transport vehicle under the ACT Emergency Services Agency Vehicle Replacement Program.
