Flashing lights beyond Queanbeyan?

So I was driving home today from Harrison to QBN and I took horse park drive. The whole way home I noticed these flashing lights in the sky with what appeared to be a cloud or smoke.

Anyone got any clue to what it is? At first I thought maybe a storm but the colour wasn’t quite right. Pics and info would be greatly appreciated.

It was a lightning/thunderstorm off the coast between Bega and the VIC border. Most of the rain when I looked at the radar at that time was falling pretty heavy (reds) out to sea!

Yes, it was a spectacular storm, very active on the radar, and we could see the very top of it, flashing on and off. This sometimes happens. Very eerie on a cool autumn night, to see a violent storm going ballistic.

Maybe the Majura radar facility.

I see a big flame thrower thing up there sometimes what is it exactly. I’m in Belco so I’m not quite sure but it looks like a flame thrower .

T1GR3 I observed the constant non-stop white light flashing too, knowing full well that it could not be lightning as generally there is a quick break in dry heat lightning or electrical moist colder weather lightning during winter or cooler nights as were the temps the other evening.

Working out the location, I put the flashing display to be around Royalla and perhaps some type of fireworks display on a block/person’s property, regardless of any bans.

Possibly the ‘lights going on’ to the collective realisation that drugs may in fact be getting into AMC……….?

Maybe the Majura radar facility.

and in this day and age you have no pic or vid???

Sounds like HQJOC’s electric fence is doing its job.

your car exhaust might be leaking?

I was woken just after midnight after our power went out in Chisholm. I walked out in the street to find that everything was pitch black, with all the street lights out. It made the atmospheric light show that you refer to quite spectacular. It looked like lightning to me, way over the horizon to the south.

There was some fairly impressive dry lightning around to the south east last night. Would have been very scary a bit closer to the source methinks.

Maybe they tried to establish connection to our leader and mistook QB for the capital? Not everyone knows that Canberra is the capital!

I, for one, welcome our new alien overlords.
