Territory And Municipal Services have a revised list of all the things closed as the ACT battens down the hatches for forecast ark building weather.

The ACT Government wishes to advise that, in the interests of public safety, several low lying parks and recreation areas adjacent to the Murrumbidgee, Molonglo and Queanbeyan Rivers are being closed this afternoon.

The closures are being made due to the ongoing and forecasted rain. They include:

    • Pine Island recreation area
    • Point Hut Crossing recreation area
    • Kambah Pool recreation area
    • Uriarra Crossing East and West recreation areas
    • walking tracks and recreation areas below the Cotter Dam
    • southern end of Googong Foreshores
    • access to the Queanbeyan River below the dam wall at Googong.

Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve, the National Arboretum, Molonglo Gorge, Woods Reserve and all forest areas will also be closed until further notice from tomorrow. People are urged to respect the closures which will be sign posted.

Camping bookings for this week at Orroral, Blue Range, Honeysuckle and Mt Clear are being cancelled.

A range of road closures are also in place. These include:

    • Bendora Dam Road
    • Brindabella Road
    • Mount Franklin Road
    • Boboyan Road
    • Orroral Valley Road
    • Apollo Road
    • Sunshine Crossing
    • Angle Crossing
    • Corin Dam Road at Square Rock car park
    • Molonglo Gorge Road.

Motorists are advised that mountain roads in Namadgi National Park are also being closed.

Signage and/or barriers are being erected to alert people of the road and crossing closures. Further closures may be necessary due to the predicted heavy rain.

At this stage Corin Dam Road remains open as far as the Square Rock car park. This maintains access to the Corin Forest recreational playground.
