A 34-year-old Florey man will face the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow (Tuesday, August 20) after being caught drink driving for the second time this year.

Around 9.50pm last night (Sunday, August 18), members of Belconnen Patrol were conducting random breath testing (RBT) on William Slim Drive, Giralang.

The 34-year-old man driving a Holden Commodore was stopped for RBT, which resulted in a positive alcohol reading.

He was conveyed to the Belconnen Police Station for a breath analysis, where he subsequently returned a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of 0.049.

The man was a disqualified driver having been convicted of two counts of drink driving offences last month. The man was therefore restricted to a prescribed BAC of 0.00 grams.

The man was arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House where he was bailed to appear in court tomorrow.

0.049 would be legal if it wasn’t for the disqualification

Sooooo, it’s not legal then. Assault would be legal if it wasn’t illegal.

Not having a go at you (not really), but this idiot was disqualified LAST MONTH for drink driving. He shouldn’t even be driving and is just saying a big f#$% you to the magistrate who sentenced him and society in general.

He’ll probably cop weekend detention out of this, which is about as much as you can expect from the weak judiciary.

I will be bloody amazed if he gets weekend detention for I was thinking more like a good behaviour bond with a further period of loss of licence.

Where he will be given an award for stupidity and sent on his merry way..

If the guy wants to be a petulant child, then he should be treated as such.

After BAC is confirmed, car should be dragged off to the wreckers, the guy given 5 minutes to take any belongings or documents out of the car before its put into the crusher.
