Who are we to stand in the way of Darwin’s work?

Social Darwinism is an idea that was developed well after Darwin himself died. It’s much closer to the idea of Eugenics and it’s a terrible smear on the man’s name that Darwin’s name is attached to it instead of somebody more appropriate, like an Austrian-born 20th Century dictator without getting too specific.

Eugenics is a very interesting concept.

If the government sold the stuff there’d be no market for the dead-sh$#’s to exploit.

Oh god, government standard issue drugs? No Thanks.

Try some Govvy E’s they will make you feel like voting, or Giovvy LSD, you’ll think Tony Abbot is a real person, smoke Govvy Weed, it makes you sit up straight and go to work.”

If the government sold the stuff there’d be no market for the dead-sh$#’s to exploit.

That and crime and overdoses would plummet.

Let’s see, law and order and courts savings, medical savings and a boost to productivity. And that’s just for starters.

A win for governmental purse strings in these constrained fiscal times.

And don’t trot out that old chestnut where society would go to hell in a hand basket. People are no more likely to touch the stuff if regulation/legalised than they ever were. I’ve never been compelled despite many opportunities.

Awesome work coppers. Why not do this more often instead of wasting huge time and money on weed.

They’d spend a hell of a lot more time and money investigating petrol drive-offs. Possibly the most preventable crime ever.

Is that a big thing? Don’t really here about it much.

It’s very common. My point – which another poster missed completely – is that the investigation of cannabis related offences generally isn’t that time consuming or expensive, whereas much lesser crimes such as petrol thefts are.

That heli can’t be cheap to run.

Petrol drive-offs can easliy by prevented by re-introducing “pay in advance” which worked well in the 1970’s.

But well done Police, get that crap off our streets.

Yes. Preventable by petrol station owners having CCTV cameras that actually work to assist police in identifying the driver and the vehicle. Also, if the offenders car had stolen number plates (which is the norm) what exactly do you expect the police to do ?

To compare petrol drive-offs to the extensive destruction of lives and families by drugs is simply moronic.

Well done AFP on this one.

What’s moronic is completely missing the point of someone’s post then replying in a rather indignant and sooky manner.

You were a little inconvenienced? I’m terribly, terribly, terribly sorry.

Don’t do it again, there’s a good boy.

I was trying to get home via Coppings yesterday when this was going down.

Stupid place for a stop.

I drove along there too, had to wait for a few minutes for the road to clear. Kudos to the guy who got out of his ute and stood at the bend in the road (Weston bound) to indicate for people to slow down so they didn’t round the corner and have to slam the brakes.

Fantastic place for a stop. Nowhere for the perp to flee to, reduced chance of risk to passers by. Plenty of time to get inits in position front and rear. You were a little inconvenienced? I’m terribly, terribly, terribly sorry.

It appears that he was ambushed and wasn’t keen to emulate one of the Townsville rapists a few days ago who temporarily avoided capture by fleeing into the river with the plod in hot pursuit. The plod took one look at the river and thought i ain’t going in there,no sir!

One would hope that this case doesn’t take years before we get a judgement as in the trafficking charge against Mr. Dib who was acquitted on 19 April 2013 after being arrested on 21 November 2008!
