fog

It seems the fogs and frosts are upon us even before the leaves have finished their turn.

Above is Geekette’s morning shot of Lake Burley Griffin.

Overheard has been snapping similar scenes:

Nice work, Geekette.

Mine were taken on a fairly average Samsung Galaxy I dumb phone and while I have to fight a daily urge to spear it touchdown-style into a wall or pavement, I did manage to figure out the panorama function a couple of weeks ago so that’s kept me diverted from wanting to throw it into an insinkerator, Fargo stylee.

Weather schmeather. It’s not good, bad or indifferent; it just is. When weather whingers move away from Canberra it just makes it quieter for anyone who appreciates a bit of change.

Gotta go; the sun’s doing amazing things outside the side window; looks like it’s going to dive into Black Mountain and impale itself on the hypodermic syringe.

Today we just ticked over a 55 year record for 5 consecutive frost mornings up to 8th May. Last happened in 1957 when there were 10 consec. frosts from 3rd to 12th May.

That’s. Just. Lovely.

But the photos are nice; looks like there’s a submerged dragon breathing out smoke in Geekette’s.

The top one is from me. I was cycling to work around the lake last Friday morning about 8.00am and had to stop and take a photo with my iphone (even though I was late) because it was so beautiful.

Wow, I’ve been all over the place and forgot I sent these in. Saturday morning 7am-ish and I decided to walk from home in the city around to Manuka. A few friends had been bitching about the weather on Farcebook so I posted these as a foil and said, ‘If you want to diss or dump on Canberra, walk 4.6 miles in my moccasins!’

Who did the top one, John; it’s stunning.
