Former Comet Divin signs 12 month contract with Tasmania

Thumper 12 July 2007 2

Former Comet Mark Divin has signed a 12-month full-time contract with Tasmania and is already in pre-season training with the Pura Cup champion’s 21-man squad.

As I previously reported, Divin left ACT cricket halfway through last season to pursue a first class career with the Tigers. Strong grade form has seen his now included in the main squad with fellow Canberran Dave Dawson.

He follows in the footsteps of Dawson, Graeme Cunningham and Darren McNees as Comets to play first class cricket for the apple islanders.

Interestingly Cricinfo doesn’t list McNees and Divin as having ever played for the Comets.

Thanks Mash,

I used to play against his old man many mnay years ago. Wade’s a bloody good player.

it’s no wonder we can’t get a first class team here in Canberra, just look at the talent that has to leave to get a chance of playing first class cricket.

I’ve heard rumours that Adam Ritchard is moving as well.

…and Wade Irvine has also received a Rookie Contract with Tasmania. Best of luck to them both!
