Does anyone know the location of Carne Creek Aranda? Google doesn’t know about it – I think this might take a local to answer. There is supposedly an interesting fossil outcrop in the creek bed there. Any ideas?

From Bindubi to Caswell is an awfully big area. And Caswell is/was a Drive, not a street. And, there is no apostrophe in Sts. Sorry.

Dunno about Carne Creek, but its probably quite chilli

oooooh! take that!

However a good spot is Gold Creek (It is called that for a reason ppl)or alternatively you could try the creekbed (Molonglo River) that is 4km due westish.

I should be more precise, the Molonglo river 4Km west of the Aranda area. This is public land and a really good walk. There are fossils there but they cannot be moved, only looked at on the rocks. As for the Gold at Gold creek, if you find some you shouldnt be telling too many people.

Private land != secure.

It admittedly becomes theft, but having laws is different to preventing crimes.

Fossil sites that are open access tend to get pillaged in direct corellation with their publicity.

This message was brought to you on behalf of future generations who will be interested in natural history and might like to have a site nearby.

Would probably be nice to have linked to it 😛

Intermittent Creek bed, between Caswell and Bindubi St’s.

Eocene period.

Try google I found a site that even gave grid references.
