Four more weeks of evening sunshine

The SMH reports that our leaders are messing with the clocks again, this time deciding to extend daylight saving by four weeks.

It is believed the plan involves daylight saving starting on the first Sunday in October, and then a return to standard time on the first Sunday in April. For NSW, it would mean daylight saving starting at least three weeks earlier and ending a week later.

still laugh about a letter I saw in the Telegraph last year, a lady was complaining about how the extra sunlight was ruining her curtains …

Why are you laughing? The guy who sold us the special daylight-saving-adapted curtains warned us that peolpe like you don’t understand the true harmful affects of daylight saving, betty

All year round supporter here. Who cares if it’s dark going to work? I used to have to start at 4 in the morning/10 o’clock at night anyway!

All year round? No thankyou. It’s hard enough getting out of bed in March. At least now the sun is just peeking through when my alarm goes off.

I still laugh about a letter I saw in the Telegraph last year, a lady was complaining about how the extra sunlight was ruining her curtains and was too much for her garden. I can’t believe there are people who think that by changing our clocks we are somehow controlling the sun!

What’s wrong with getting to work in the dark..?

I’d rather be able to do stuff after work when it is light than worry about how dark it is outside while i’m at the grindstone

“and getting to work in the dark!”

You should try being a consultant – we just swan in when we feel likel it…

I would love daylight savings all year.

Having it all year round doesn’t make sense.

If we were under daylight saving all year round means that on the 10th of June this year, the sun would start rising at 8:13 a.m. and set at 5:57 p.m.

I’m sure we all realise daylight saving doesn’t increase the amount of sunshine.

Personally I’d be happy to get rid of Daylight Saving’s entirely.

Besides, if you did make it all the year round, that means getting up in the dark more often (and getting to work in the dark!) and not necessarily getting any benefit at the end of the day anyway.

Won’t anybody think of the goths?

In agreeance.

I’d rather have daylight savings time all year round.

Excellent, now to get them to do it all year round.
