Free bus ride if ACTION is late?

My spies report that, while in pursuit of their quarry on the bus network, their fare was waived because the bus was late.

Normally my spies are padding their expenses and not the other way around, so I find this highly suspicious.

Has anyone else encountered this policy on the bus network? If so does anyone know what the parameters of the policy are?

Andy – I just don’t tolerate rudeness at all (to me it equates to stupidity/ignorance), of course I never would knock them out… i am far too polite

I have had bussies reject a ten dollar note…. ?i think they should be able to cater up to $20

peopel who offer bus drivers anything above a ten dollar note, deserve a thrashing.

i’ve only had freebies on the bus when the ticket machine was busted (which happens so much these days!) but…thats never happend before.

if so, i’d be getting a free bus ride every morning, score!

AbsentDiane, why knock them out ?
just state clearly and politely “I am holding a XX dollar note. This note clearly says this is legal tender throughout australia and all its territories. If you do not wish to accept my legal tender for the service, that is fine, but I shall be getting on the bus at this time.”
If an inspector should question your lack of fair, state that the driver refused to accept your legal tender, and as I have an important appointment, I got on the bus anyway. I’m still happy to pay the fare, if the driver will accept my legal tender.”

Worked for me..

I’ve seen this at Belconnenn Interchange when a morning bus was running late. One of those Action workers with a clipboard that are everywhere lately let everyone on without a ticket. Unfortunately the people at the next stop had to use one.

I have had heaps of freebies on action when their machines have been busted… have also come close to knocking out drivers when they won’t let me on when THEY don’t have change…

i’d be riding for free every AM if this was an ACTION policy.

Same here Jazz, got a freebie cause the driver had no change.

I once got a freebie because they didn’t have change.
Also, I would support this policy for taxis that are 75 minutes late.

i do recall one occasion where my fare was waived on an action bus. it was more to do with the fare thingy being broken.
