Gallagher Wines are now sponsoring the Canberra Capitals, and one would hope a few free glasses are part of the deal.

Two of Canberra’s most distinctive local brands have formed an exciting new partnership with the announcement of Gallagher Wines as Sponsor for The Tradies Canberra Capitals.

Located just outside Canberra, with breathtaking panoramic views of the Brindabella Ranges, Gallagher Wines planted their current vineyard in 1995. After more than 20 years in the industry, respected winemaker Greg Gallagher decided he had found the perfect climate to produce his Shiraz and Chardonnay, as well as the opportunity to expand the range of wines through locally available grapes.

“We’ve had a long term interest in the sport of basketball in Canberra, dating back to the Cannons, and the synergy seemed like a good fit. As we enter our twentieth year operating in the Canberra region, we feel a partnership with the Capitals is a perfect fit,” Gallagher said.

Fittingly, just as the Capitals represent a unique part of Canberra’s sporting culture, Gallagher’s family owned and operated winery specialises in its own handcrafted, premium wines from the region’s renowned cool climate environment.

I want that woman in the photo’s arms.

God knows why – one of them appears to have an enormous ball attached to the end.

I’ll pay top dollar!

And any Capitals reading, don’t worry about comment #1. He’s just jealous of your fitness. (I’d say he’s the village idiot, but that would be a grave insult to village idiots.)

There are some arms dealers who could do you a second hand deal.

VB would be more appropriate. Some of them are so ugly you’d need beer goggles to watch a game.

Wine may be more middle-class and naice than beer, but wine sponsorship is still linking alcohol with sport .

I bet you’re a real oil painting yourself.

I know Carrie Graf has been a fan of local reds (and Grove Estate Shiraz Viognier from Young). Greg Gallagher’s wines are consistently good and he is certainly the ‘go to’ man for making sparkling in the Canberra district.
