A 20-year-old Gilmore man and a 19-year-old Calwell man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning following an aggravated robbery that took place on Wednesday night (1 February).
Around 10:30pm on Wednesday, a 54-year-old man was at his Calwell home watching television when two men arrived for a visit. A short time later a disagreement took place and the victim was assaulted by the two men.
While the victim was being assaulted, the men stole his wallet, and started to damage his personal belongings after he refused to provide the personal identification numbers of his bank cards.
Once the men left, the victim was able to contact police to report the incident. Due to his injuries, he was conveyed to The Canberra Hospital for medical treatment.
Both men were located by police, arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House. They will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning, charged with aggravated robbery, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and property damage.
