John Hargreaves has put out a media release announcing that the Fringe Festival in 2007 is going to be held in Civic Square rather than at the Street Theatre (let’s hope it doesn’t rain).

Apaprently this will make it more accessible to the parts of the “mainstream multicultural festival”being held somewhere called “Civic Mall” (anyone know what the hell that is?)

Jorian Gardner has again landed the job of running the shebang.

Will Hagreaves be making a drunken speech at the opening? Then you’ll know it’s not a fringe event anymore!

What a shame! The Street was a perfect location for this. I for one was very happy to be away from the “mainstream multicultural festival”. Isn’t that what a “fringe” festival is all about???

Do you think they mean Garema Place? Signposting of these Civic features would be useful, especially as it keeps changing. I now get lost every time I go into Civic these days – which so far this year is only three times (one being the protest against school closures outside the LA).
