It’s lovely that the Canberra Times fountain is working again (and looking magnificent under its coloured lights at night).

Elaine has sent in a shot showing someone’s been having fun with detergent again.

Meh! Do it to the Captain Cook Water Jet and then I’ll be impressed.

Who the hell gave it such abominable name??

Don’t worry, it’s soon to be downscaled.

As part of the ‘restructure’, it’ll soon be the Farifax fountain, or the Rinehart fountain….

Someone forgot the Condy’s Crystals.

Did you point out to him that it was already looking pretty clean.

Those guys are no fun at all, are they? >:(

Could soon be renamed the “Canberra Times Memorial Fountain”?

It’s always a bit of fun doing that 😀 My friends and I died it pink one day and five minutes later a CT photographer came by and snapped a pic. There was a single paragraph in the next day’s paper labelling us “bubbly pranksters”. I did it green once as well, but I like pink better.

The people who paid for it?

It was a rhetorical question JB.
Frankly, company names being put on buildings and sites just goes to show the vanity of the organisation.

Not pointing any fingers, but…

It is good to see they used a quality detergent here. Nicely formed foam layer. Even distribution. I’ve seen many disappointing attempts over the years that can be attributed to cheap detergents – or not enough. I give them a solid 8.5 out of 10.

Gone are the good old days when you could walk through Civic with 10 litres of Bushland without somebody calling the bomb squad.

Haha, indeed.

Aside from that, detergent in the CT fountain never gets old. I hope it never stops.

I remember in 1981 that “my friend” put some in one night….hehehehe

In these parts, I’m surprised it’s not called the RiotACT Fountain.

render unto caesar that which is caesar’s.

At some point we’d love to be able to pay for a much bigger fountain.

And in the context of the Crimes lay-offs, JB:

“Life is mostly froth and bubble,
Two things stand like stone,
Kindness in another’s trouble,
Courage in your own.”

Adam Lindsay Gordon.

Ha ha ha.

I loved it when the fountain was green. I think it was plumbers dye or something.

IMO the best prank to ever happen to that fountain.
