Furniture delivery services

Does the RiotACT community have any recommendations for furniture pick-up and delivery services in the Canberra region (including surrounding towns like Queanbeyan, Yass, Bungendore, etc.)

I’m interested in businesses that specialise in the small moves – one or a few items of furniture like a cabinet or a table. Items that could just as easily be transported in the back of a van as a truck. (I don’t hold a driver’s licence, so renting such a vehicle is not an option for me.)

General courier companies require the goods to be packaged – which is great for flat-pack furniture but not for the ready-made stuff.

General couriers are also kind of expensive.

Recently used someone recommended by a store for a delivery down the coast. Very easy to deal with and fair price compared to some of the other quotes I was getting. Their website is http://www.canfreight.com.au

wow that post was a long time ago, but i may be able to help, the company i work for has a pick up and delivery for for one off customers, prices are quite reasonable.

I used Mitchell Family Removals a couple of times in the last 10 years. Col is a great guy and was really careful with everything he touched from hand made furniture to expensive electronics. Can’t recommend highly enough.

“Mitchell Family Removals” might be worth a shot… I see their trucks around Macgregor and have met Col’ Mitchell a few times… I know he specialises in small moves – http://www.mitchellfamilyremovals.com.au/

You rent a truck, give me a slab of Pale Ale longnecks and I’ll do it for you. Works out to be about $100.

Righto – I’ll keep you mind for the larger jobs, provided you drink the beers *after* you’ve returned the truck…

Tell her Dion sent you!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll look into it.
