ACT Policing is investigating a suspicious fire at the Fyshwick Markets last night (August 25) which caused extensive damage to a vehicle.
About 7.10pm, police attended the rear car park of the Fyshwick Markets on Mildura Street, in response to a report from ACT Fire Brigade (ACTFB) of a vehicle on fire. When police arrived at the scene, ACTFB were already in attendance and had extinguished the vehicle fire.
Witnesses told police they saw two people running from the fire prior to police arrival, however, a description of the two suspects could not be provided.
Police are appealing for any other witnesses who may have seen suspicious persons or activity in the vicinity of the Fyshwick Markets last night to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via the Crime Stoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.
