Fyshwick to eat Canberra

Fyshwick is already one of the few genuinely vibrant parts of the city. (Dickson, Manuka and Kingston being the others IMHO).

The Canberra Times is reporting that planning contraints on a large site in Fyshwick (intended to be a bulky goods store) are such that it’s going to create a shopping mall instead.

A shopping mall the size of woden plaza. With the airport already shifting the city’s commercial centre of mass to the east how long before pressure grows on the available residential options out that way?

and all the other services. gah home visits from tugg to Fyshwyck. Can’t wait. *bangs head*

Sweet. A shopping mall full of brothels. And I thought Woden Plaza was a whorehouse.

Interesting, WIN Late News had Queanbeyan fretting abut being eaten by this too.

Fyshwick Uber Alles!

And this fits within the Spatial Plan how?

Hoo-ray. Exactly what Canberra needs. More bloated, over-priced retail centre space to add to our already grossly over-serviced capital.

Bravo to Simon and the ACTPLA . Keep cutting that pie thinner. There’s plenty to go round.
