Anyone know where the ugg boot retailer that used to be opposite the DFO in Fyshwick?

It tends to come and go but hasn’t made an appearance yet this year. It did move for a while to a premises over the other side of Fyshwick then came back but disappeared over the Summer and hasn’t returned.

These are my favourite uggies and with Mother’s Day coming up I need to point the Bad Seedlings in the right direction.

Just another thumbs up for the Canberra Tannery at the end of Underwood St. off Norse Rd. in Oaks Estate. Thanks to bitzermaloney for mentioning them.

I went there on the weekend and picked up a pair of ankle-high lambskin boots for my partner and some slippers for myself — beautiful work and the guy was very friendly and helpful. I doubt I would have found the place otherwise, thanks Rioters!

And another. Picked up some ugg slippers for SWMBO there a couple of years ago – very happy.
It is an odd little establishment, but excellent product and prices.

Thankyou very much everyone. It seems sadly that the business I was after has gone but Rioters have provided lots of alternatives, thanks again.

$45 for ugg slippers? That’s a good price. I might check out that Tannery. I’ve seen the signs. (Makes note: bring real money).

Try the leather shop in Woden mall, a little exxy, but they look like good quality. I’ve been happy with other things I’ve bought from there and do plan to pick up a pair of uggs from there in the near future.

There’s a Tannery on Underwood St, Queenbeyan that sells them (though it’s actually the ACT side of the border).

Locally made with lots of choice in style and colour, including hot pink if that takes your fancy, reasonably priced and many sizes (inc. kids)

They are near HMAS Harman, but the otherside of Canberra Ave. (Lot 2000 Underwood St if you use google maps).

The only thing, they don’t take credit card.

YOU WIN!

I just picked up some ugg boot “slippers” from this tannery for a tidy $45. Higher style boots are $70. Thanks for the tip on payment too; they only accept cash or cheque.

It’s a bit of an odd set up and you could easily be mistaken for missing it. The store is right at the end of the dirt road which Underwood St becomes.

They don’t have a lot of stock and there’s a two week wait apparently if you need boots made to order.

The boots I picked up look pretty good and I assume they are wool and not a synthetic product (I forgot to ask/confirm). Being a tannery, though, you’d expect they’re the real deal.

RA saves the day again. 🙂

I went there December 2010 and there was a sign on the door stating that they had gone into voluntary receivership with no plans to reopen there or anywhere else. I was totally bummed, I loved that place.

Maybe Joe’s Boots will know? He’s usually very helpful with those kinds of things. I think he may have some good ones going at the moment too.

There used to be one near Toner Express on Tennant St in Fyshwick for a while. Not too sure if it’s still there but they did a terribly good job on my Dad’s Uggs.

The people in Jurkewicz might know, people leasing a shared building often become friendly.

What was once Jurkiewicz is now BCF in Fyshwick, has been for a number of years.

The last pair of Ugg boots we picked up, was from one of those retailers that come-and-go in the walkways of the malls. From memory last time we saw them many months ago, they were out the front of Hungry Jacks at Tuggeranong. Keep an eye out as youre walking around the malls and you might stumble across them.

There is an ugg boot kiosk going up at Woden Plaza in the aisle linking Clock Court with the supermarkets. They were stocking it yesterday, should be up and running either today or in the next few days.

+1 for finding this retailer. The last pair I bought from this guy have lasted the best part of a decade, but need replacing.

Thank you Bad Seed, you saved me the embarrassment of starting something on this very subject! My cold feet need help…
