Gallagher and Health Dept not responsible again.

Thumper 6 March 2008 7

ABC online is reporting that part time Minister not responsible for health, Ms Gallagher has defended the treatment of a Canberra man who says he did not get chemotherapy for leukemia on time at the Canberra Hospital.

According to Katie it is all okay because a review found the delay occurred because the right medical supplies were not ordered.

So, let me get this straight. The wrong supplies were ordered therefore the health Department is not responsible for the treatment being on time.

I would have to ask, why was the wrong order for supplies put in? And who is responsible for ordering? Surely it must be the, well, health deprtment, which comes under, well, Ms Gallagher’s responsibility.

And to placate Barney, it appears that the ACT opposition have yet again failed to make any significant yardage out of this issue.

It sure sounds like a cockup, but cockups happen. Is there a history of wrong supplies being ordered, or is this a one-off incident?

I received fairly ordinary ‘care’ at Calvary.
The problems mainly seemed to be due to not enough nurses.

“Well, she is the Minister responsible.”

Yeah, she even make Reba Meagher look competent.

Why don’t these useless women just stay at home and have babies? 😉

Well people seem to be able to drop dead in Accident and Emergency and no one was responsible for that, so why would Katy care about someone who didn’t get their chemo on time?

Well, she is the Minister responsible.

As for Jacqui Burke, she needs to shut up and stops sensationalising everything.

And I agree, I have had nothing but good experiences with ACT hospitals, not that I’ve actually been near one for yonks….

Hahaha…so true paddytrick! Errrgggg…I despise that woman.

Maybe I’m just lucky, but I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with the ACT Hospital/Health system. As a patient myself & as a parent of a young patient….we’ve received timely & professional care each & every time. Sorry!

You’re quite right, we should vote out the Labor government and put that wonderful Jacqui Burke in charge – her competence and intelligence has been proven time and again.
